I am thinking of switching to a 4 blade prop, anyone here using one? I have a 1999 2100 150 Johnson. I am not concerned with wot I never run that fast, I am more concerned with cruising, I like to run 3800 - 4000 rpms when cruising I also pull the kids on tubes. My 3 blade seems to slip when cornering, looking for more bite and better MPG. Any opinions on this subject are appreciated.

I now have 4 blade SS BRP prop.
The 4 blade will keep the boat on plane at much lower RPM.hence better fuel economy, better hook up in rough seas, more useable power and only minor drop in top speed.

Might also look into a Rebel...they are large diameter and have as much blade area as most 4 blades.

Rich, I also have a 1999 2100 w/150 Ocean Pro spinning a 4 Blade Prop. I did lkose a little top end but have a better bite and my mid range cruise improved. I have been happy thus far. Seriously considering a re-power to a Etech 200 HO next season. Joe |

Joe, just curious, why the HO its about 100 Lbs heavier than the 200 Etec, is there a big difference between the 2

Ran the new 4 blade the last 2 days. Solas 14.75 x 15. Very happy with the results. Found improved handling, better holeshot and acceleration. Boat was able to run at lower rpms and speed and stay on plane in rough seas. Still need to check WOT when its calm but so far I hit 5100 RPMs running 36 MPH which is fine for me and within the correct range. It's a keeper.
