its a great place to lunch when fishing for halibut, parking is great the tackle and tray bait at the shop there can be a little bit more there other places, but its great when you forgot something. the launch can get a little slow when busy its short and at low tibe you will have to wait for the boat before you to pull out before you can launch and also when returning to trailer the boat also. fishing can be very close

I love this place! I've had many great Halibut trips from this marina. The trick is to find a day when the wind is not howling. In the month of May, if you can find a windless day, do whatever you can to get out on that day. The lack of wind means the conditions will be pleasant, and the water will be clear. May is the best month for the Halibut bite.

The winds there are a little higher than usual but predictable. Mostly due to San Bruno Mountain funneling the winds from the ocean through what's known as the San Bruno Fog Gap.

In the late Spring/Summer/Fall months you will typically find the winds starting up around 11am ~ Noon or so and increasing until late in the day. If you are out there during those months from sunrise until 11~noon you will usually find it to be beautiful and flat calm.

I've found the best tide in that area to be the incoming with it peaking near the top of the tide. If you work the shelf from OP to Candlestick in 8' to 20' during the summer months you are almost guaranteed to get into some good Halibut fishing with occasional Stripers mixed in.
